Misc Tips

While talking with some members tonight in fleet chat, it became apparent that everyone may have tips they've found to make game-play a little easier. So, if you have something you think might help others, please comment here!

My first comment/tip is in regard to making space...
  • You can email yourself, even across factions, so use mail to store things temporarily.
  • Your BOFFs can hold various things. If you're collecting a lot while out on missions and need some room, see if your BOFFs can carry some items for you temporarily. You'll probably end up with some extra BOFFs or BOFF slots, too, so put them to use for you!
  • You can also mail BOFFs to yourself. Just drag them from the BOFF list of candidates into mail.
Oh, and another note: Did you ever try to get items attached to mail while you're out in space and find you can't do it? Go to a mailbox location and open mail there. It's at an actual mailbox that you'll be able to take attachments from mail messages.

So, what are YOUR tips?

Special Items

Don't forget to get your Phoenix ship pet at Utopia Planitia for "First Contact Day." Go to the location of Sol system and choose to enter "Utopia Planitia" instead of "Sol System." It's quick -- just talk to everyone and you'll have your own Phoenix! Note that this is only available until April 9, so don't delay! See more info here: http://startrekonline.com/node/3045

And, have you gotten your IDIC tribble? It's available at Earth Spacedock in the corner of the hallway outside Club 47. Official STO info here: http://www.startrekonline.com/node/3021 and here's some interesting information about how to make really great use of this tribble by giving it to Bridge Officers on ground missions: http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=263666. I cannot find any information about when the tribbles will no longer be available, but it began on April 2, so it might be a good idea to get yours as soon as you're able.

There is also a Zen/Cryptic Points promotion going on until April 8. You can find information here: http://www.startrekonline.com/node/3058

And, lastly for today, here's some good information about using duty officers and the interior of your ship: http://www.startrekonline.com/node/2959. Notice too, the info about "turning in five underperforming duty officers, plus a modest amount of Dilithium, for a random duty officer of the next highest quality."

Genl News 2012.04.07

2012.04.07 Our Apr 6 meeting was very fruitful, and it seemed everyone enjoyed meeting fellow members. It was decided to make minor changes to our fleet uniform, and it will be required at some fleet events. You can change the undershirt color to that of your career, but please keep the color recognizable. You can also use your own rank designation and choose the comm badge you prefer. You should also be sure to include the fleet emblem (on all uniforms). All other parts/features of the uniform should remain as they are. We've also gotten our FIFTH fleet bank tab! WOOHOO, TFG: KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! Our first fleet contest is also now underway. If you don't know the details, check our website, or ask other TFG members. Remember to check and sign up for events! And, most importantly, recent promotions to Senior Chief: Chaniki, Iohillen, Joe, Knebow, Luke, Sarok, T'Remberale, X-Ray... Grats to you all!

Dilthium Mining Event & Upcoming Fleet Meeting

Previous Fleet Event Attendees: Todd, Ender, Five, Iohillen
(Not Shown: Connor, Chaniki)

First off I just wanted to say thank you for all who participated in the Dilithium Mining fleet event!  We had lots of fun running around on that asteroid learning the in's & out's of getting the most bang for your buck when mining, as well as the sweet dance party afterwards!

In case you haven't been looking at the roster lately, we have grown quite a bit since we started and hope to continue in the future.  We plan on having a Fleet meeting to discuss the direction of our Fleet as well as upcoming events, notifying members of promotions, and finding out what our next steps as a Fleet are.  Please try your best to attend the meeting this Friday April 6th, 2012 at 8:00 PM (central time) and we can begin our discussions.

We appreciate all everyone has done so far with the fleet when it comes to interacting in Fleet chat, forming groups to play together, and inviting your friends to join us so we can grow as a gaming community.  Keep up the good work!
