Misc Tips

While talking with some members tonight in fleet chat, it became apparent that everyone may have tips they've found to make game-play a little easier. So, if you have something you think might help others, please comment here!

My first comment/tip is in regard to making space...
  • You can email yourself, even across factions, so use mail to store things temporarily.
  • Your BOFFs can hold various things. If you're collecting a lot while out on missions and need some room, see if your BOFFs can carry some items for you temporarily. You'll probably end up with some extra BOFFs or BOFF slots, too, so put them to use for you!
  • You can also mail BOFFs to yourself. Just drag them from the BOFF list of candidates into mail.
Oh, and another note: Did you ever try to get items attached to mail while you're out in space and find you can't do it? Go to a mailbox location and open mail there. It's at an actual mailbox that you'll be able to take attachments from mail messages.

So, what are YOUR tips?

  1. One thing I noticed is when you are Selling your items to a vendor, the items are listed in the order they are located in your inventory. So if you know what items you want to sell just put them at the very bottom of your inventory and you can find them really fast without having dig for them.

  2. Something I've noticed is that a lot of new players don't really seem to know what the differences are between the various types of equipment. I hear a lot of people in local/zone chat commenting on what weapon systems are the best and I sit here and shake my head because I see people listing set-ups that are really not meant for their profession. I was in an STF with an Engineer who had his ship using a Pure Tactical configuration. Needless to say he was an awful tank.
It would be nice to have a place for us to list our configurations and a short explanation of how we use them. This would allow newcomers to see ideas from experienced players and for us to comment on and help each other with our builds.
